7 TYPES OF STUDENTS YOU’LL FIND IN A TYPICAL NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY
The University is one big community where different persons from different backgrounds, social status, states and ethnicity who speak different languages, with different life goals and character traits are found. While I was in school, I came in contact with different kinds of people, from the super cool ones to the super annoying ones. If you’re a Nigerian studying in a Nigerian university, you’ll find this post relatable.

The fashionista

This group of students are always known to dress up. They’re in the know about every fashion trend. They never leave their hostel rooms without their full face beat, designer dress and bags now we just have to accept the fact they always look chick and beautiful. We all love to admire them, why not? I mean they invest so much time to look so beautiful and presentable.

The wanna be

This group of people do any and everything to look like the next big thing. They’re the liars, the story tellers, the pretenders, they have it not but they pretend to have it all. You’ll know them when you see them.

The churchy

These ones are the “Mary-Amaka” like kind of students. They’re covered up ear to ear, they wear ill fitting clothes and ankle-length skirts bogus trousers, and big “coats” you know what I mean when I say coat right? No they don’t wear suits but “coats”. They don’t tell lies, they submit their assignments earlier than others, they report their class to their lecturers when they feel their course mates are wrong so they look like the good ones. They are the Lecturer’s favourite, don’t you just love them?

The bookworm

These are the efikos. They literally sleep in the library, They read till day break (TDB) and doze off during classes. Just look around, you’ll find them with big back packs and textbooks. Some of them already have hunched backs from carrying so many books all at ones. I love their nerdy look, they look so innocent.

The social

These ones are the light of the party. You find them wherever it’s going down, they are everyone’s friends, simply put; they’re fun to be with.

The observer

These group of people love to observe and take note of everything going on around them. They know more than you think they do and they can beat you at your game if care is not taken. You don’t see them carrying books all over the place but they do better than most efikos.

The ITK

These group of people are those who seem to know it all. They are the busy bodies, always looking for an opportunity to show off. They are the set of people who always destroy laboratory equipment and derive so much joy getting themselves and their course mates into trouble.
I think I was the observer and sometimes I’ll pretend to be the efiko lol!
It’s your turn, what type of student are/were you?

Nice post. I’d like to think I’m more of the observer and a little of the fashionista if school stress let me.

To be honest I was a mixture of Fashionista, Social (but not parties) and Observer. I just can’t describe myself with just one. And reading this post made me nostalgic about my school days, it was good while it lasted. By the way, you didn’t tell us which one you were?

Hilarious post but this is so true. I was the fashionista in my own way. With my cheap clothes that i could afford then, I was always overdressed, lols. I also fit into the Observer. I can study people ehn, after what was i doing with my life then aside passing exams? So I had time and i think this has helped me grow and learn quickly. A lot of my classmates back then in uni are still amazed at how fast i have grown. Little did they know I was busy taking notes from them then.

Lol! I see why you dress up so well. I think quiet and observant people are often underestimated, they can actually do a whole lot.
