It’s the end of the month again and we’re back to taking stock of all the good and maybe not so good things we encountered in January 2018. Oh! It’s February already! I wrote this post a while ago and I couldn’t just leave it lying in my draft.
Who else thinks January went by so fast, I think it did but somehow I found myself staring at my calendar everyday, ticking off the dates as it went by and wondering why January was too slow, can we move into the next month already? Things pregnancy makes you do *sighs*
It would be unfair if I said this month was perfect, it came with it’s own high and down moments, but I’ve chosen to look at the beautiful side that made me smile and give thanks to God and I’m also full of expectations for the new month.
Okay enough intro, let’s get into the juicy part of this post.
This post would probably be one of the longest I’ve written so far so grab a glass of juice, coffee or tea, relax and enjoy.
Getting a domain name and becoming self hosted was my top priority for this blog this year. I didn’t even think about purchasing a theme and a blog redesign but it happened and I’m grateful to God.
I won a giveaway hosted by two amazing bloggers Asakemi and Cassie Daves. I never thought I’d win. I remember seeing the post on instagram that morning, at first I didn’t want to enter the giveaway but after sometime I decided to, I had nothing to loose anyway. You can imagine how happy I was when I was announced the winner.
And because Asakemi is an awesome person she added a theme and blog redesign to my win *in Cassie’s words*.
So not only did I get a domain name, I also got self hosted, a premium theme and blog redesign, all without paying a dime!! Can you beat that?! I’m really so happy. Thank you so much Cassie and Asakemi. May God bless you endlessly.
I love the new look of my blog and I hope you do too. Feel free to let me know what you’d like to see more of.
I got nominated for my first blog recognition award tag where I answered some questions and shared some fun stuff about myself, you can read about it here.
Feeling excited and anxious
I’ll welcome a baby soon. You know the excitement that comes with cuddling a baby I would call mine for the very first time, the joy and fulfilment, oh well.. But I also feel anxious, I’ve read and heard about so many gory details of child birth in Nigerian hospitals, about the wicked nurses and insensitive doctors, these stories get me scared, the closest any woman can be to death is through labour and child birth so why do these health care givers not take it serious?? Anyways I’m right here praying I don’t meet people like that. Positive mindset is key.
I’ve been reading some non academic books to keep my mind occupied. When I’m not writing blog posts, I spend my time reading some useful articles.
I’m at that stage where I have to be really careful not to fall into the temptation of eating junks. Although my meals consists mainly of carbs, I try to eat as much fruits as I can. I eat carrots like it’s no man’s business, well depending on my mood, I also eat lots of Africa star apple (agbalumo or udara), oranges, papaya, avocado, pineapples and apples. I’ve also tried to be consistent with taking my vitamins.
A little bit more. The place of prayer can’t be underestimated, It’s a habit that gets cultivated over time. I’m also trying to build my relationship with my maker, that’s the whole essence of life.
Now that I’m back to blogging I promise to be consistent and also create more amazing contents. Thank you so much for your support. Don’t forget to follow this blog so you don’t miss any new update. Also follow me on instagram, and twitter, I’d like to be your friend. 😘
So officially this blog is now www.nessytalks.com how amazing!
